What Does Nova Supports do to Support Employees?
All About Our Staff Trainings, What Services We Focus On, and Our Expectations for Quality Care
Nova Supports specializes in ABA therapy and behavior consultation. Our behavior analysts begin this process with a comprehensive intake assessment to understand individual needs, and then set tailored treatment goals. Our team conducts thorough functional and skills assessments to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors. Our customized behavior plans include strategies for intervention, behavior response, and skill development, which are all aligned with the individual's objectives.
At Nova, our team provides compassionate, evidence-based support tailored to each child and family. Our clinicians are trained in PDA-informed practices, helping us support children who experience intense anxiety around everyday demands.
Nova Supports stays up-to-date on current autism news and data-driven studies.
Early intervention is a very important part of ABA therapy for autistic people, and we want to provide the best care possible. We use the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a play-based, relationship-focused approach designed for young children with autism. ESDM is a model that integrates developmental science with behavioral principles. What does this mean? It ensures that ABA helps with the child's communication, social engagement, learning, and independence through natural interactions and play.
We also provide specialized training for caregivers, including parents, Direct Support Professionals and family members, ensuring they are equipped to implement the behavior plan effectively.
Our approach is data-driven, with continuous monitoring of the behavior plan's impact, regular progress reports, and active participation in team meetings to advocate for our clients.
For those at a distance or in remote areas, Nova Supports offers behavior services whenever possible. We can serve clients wherever they are, with RBT supervision from a BCBA through phone and video calls, supplemented by in-person visits when possible.
Behavior technicians will always provide in-person services. This ensures that quality behavior consultation and support are accessible, helping individuals thrive under any circumstances, even when they live in rural areas.
There may be other instances where using video calls instead of in-person interaction is appropriate. Autism parents and caregivers may choose to do parent supervision through a video call if it's more convenient for them. Nova Supports still encourages behavior analysts to do RBT supervision in person wherever possible.
