About Nova Supports: Our Staff Trainings and what Services we focus on
Nova Supports specializes in ABA therapy and behavior consultation, starting each journey with a comprehensive intake assessment to understand individual needs and set tailored treatment goals. Our team conducts thorough functional and skills assessments to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors. Based on these insights, we craft customized behavior plans that include strategies for intervention, behavior response, and skill development, all aligned with the individual's objectives.
At Nova, we invest heavily in training so our team can provide compassionate, evidence-based support tailored to each child and family. Our clinicians receive specialized training in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)-informed practices, which help us understand and support children who experience intense anxiety around everyday demands and expectations.
Early intervention is a very important part of ABA therapy for autistic people, and we want to provide the best care possible. We train our team in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a play-based, relationship-focused approach designed for young children with autism. ESDM integrates developmental science with behavioral principles to build communication, social engagement, learning, and independence through natural interactions and play.
We also provide specialized training for caregivers, including Direct Support Professionals and family members, ensuring they are equipped to implement the behavior plan effectively.
Our approach is data-driven, with continuous monitoring of the behavior plan's impact, regular progress reports, and active participation in team meetings to advocate for our clients.
For those at a distance or in remote areas, Nova Supports offers comprehensive remote consultation services through phone and video calls, supplemented by in-person visits when possible. This ensures that quality behavior consultation and support are accessible, helping individuals thrive under any circumstances.
Our Mission is to provide competent and compassionate care to our clients and their families
We hold ourselves and our employees to a high standard. We always ask ourselves the question: "What kind of care would I want my child to receive?" and make sure we strive for that goal.
